Let's face it, I'm a sucker for reunions. There's something about meeting up with an old friend that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's like when you uncover that old sweater from your closet when the weather starts to drop; it still fits and you wonder where it has been all this time.
Most, if not all, of my most recent reunions has been in the LA area mainly due to convenience. I confess, I found myself with a plate of food in front of me during every one of those reunions (hey.. I can't help it). Now, I wouldn't want to change a winning formula BUT I thought it was time for a change. I know it sounds crazy but why not have a reunion OUTSIDE of LA?
With a little coordination between Julie, KFC and I, we all managed to take a day off for an mini-extended vacation up in the Bay area. Since Julie has never been to SF, we decided to incorporate all of the "must see" spots into our tours of the bay. So was also able to make it out from Berkeley for one day during our trip and to top things off, I was able to meet up with my mentor Oskie from my lab days at LA. Great food, great pictures, great people, great vacation. Until our next reunion, ahem.... one week away and back in LA for the holidays?
