The Sun and the Moon
I always found it amusing that people typically referred to their spouse as their "better half." I never quite appreciated the phrase but I'm starting to understand why. One of the recurring themes that I've witness from the couples that I've had the pleasure of meeting is just how uncannily true this notion is. In the short time that I've gotten to know them, I've learned that Grace is meticulous, punctual and extremely organized while Jeff is relaxed, amicable and not one to worry. Though seemingly polar opposites, much like the sun and the moon, they are just two halves that make each other whole. Together, they're perfect.
When I met Jeff the morning of the wedding, he just came back from a six mile run around Baltimore. Though I was slightly worried that he wouldn't have enough time to get ready before the First Look, he reassured me with a "so I'll meet you in 8 minutes?" Impressed by his poise, I came back to his room 10 minutes later and he was showered, dressed and ready. I had asked him if he was nervous and he replied with a confident "nope."
As expected, when Grace arrived at the hotel at 10am on the dot for the First Look, she probably couldn't tell that 20 minutes prior, Jeff was just getting back from his run. When they saw each other for the First Look and by the way they embraced and smiled at each other, you knew that despite being a shorter wedding day and under a tight time crunch, everything would work out as planned. And for the day that transpired? Absolutely amazing.
Grace and Jeff, I just wanted to say thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding. I feel truly honored to be a part of your special day and I always feel touched to be welcomed by your friends and family. It's a blessing for me to be able to share with you something I love to do. Hope you two had an amazing time on your honeymoon and can't wait to get you the photos when you're back.
Lastly, I just wanted to thank my Twin, Shamin, for coming to hang out with me in Baltimore and helping me shoot the wedding. It would not have been as smooth and successful without all of your assistance. Words could not expressed how thankful I am for you.
